Research Expertise

  • I am interested in developing and translating research into improved outcomes and decreased health disparities in primary care. I strive to partner with the community to identify their health concerns and create research that partners with them to create holistic solutions. I am particularly interested in increasing access to research for historically excluded populations and utilizing the strengths of Family Medicine to understand and address root causes of health disparities. My research projects are generally centered around: 1. Utilizing genetics and epigenetics in conjunction with Social Determinants of Health to address health disparities; and 2. Increasing utilization of precision medicine in primary care for historically excluded populations.
