Why rural family medicine?
One of my first exposures to medicine was in a small town setting. Since then I've known I wanted to a physician embedded deeply within a community. Being a rural family physician will be the best way for me to practice medicine with community trust.
Fun fact:
If I didn't consider a career in medicine, I would still want to do something to help others. I would have probably pursued urban planning. The design of cities and towns has an impact on the health of people that live there.
