Why rural family medicine?
Medical school teaches you how to be a doctor. Family medicine teaches you how to be a family doctor. Rural family medicine, to me, is where you become a community doctor. I love the opportunity to care for people across every stage of life while improving the health of an entire community. The close relationships, continuity of care, and impact both inside and outside the clinic are what made rural family medicine an easy choice for me.
Fun fact:
I tend to go through phases where I become fascinated by a topic and dive deep into it headfirst. Over the years, those interests have ranged from history and politics to geography, soccer, cricket, cooking, Marvel superheroes and even space. My interests change, but my curiosity never does.
