On Friday, March 15, 2024, medical students and residency programs across the country learned what the next three years will bring.
In the VCU School of Medicine Class of 2024, 21 students matched in Family Medicine, and nine of them matched to programs in Virginia. Six of them will remain with VCU in our affiliated residency programs – one at Fairfax, one at Shenandoah Valley in Front Royal, and four at St. Francis in Midlothian. One of the students headed to St. Francis will be joining the rural track in Blackstone.
The inaugural class of our VCU-CMH Family Medicine Residency program in South Hill will bring three additional Family Medicine interns to Virginia. As Dr. Lori Landes, Program Director, noted, “(We are) very excited to welcome our first class and take this next step in expanding rural health training for VCU Health and the Family Medicine department.”
We are excited to welcome all of these new interns to VCU Family Medicine!
