At the Family Medicine Education Consortium (FMEC) Annual Meeting in October, James Ledwith, Jr., M’83, was awarded the 2023 Family Physicians Who Are Changing Our World Award. With this award, he was honored for his dedication to serving the uninsured and other vulnerable groups over the years, both in Massachusetts and here in Virginia. He founded and continues to provide support for the Ledwith-Lewis Free Clinic in Tappahannock, Virginia. FMEC also celebrated his leadership in teaching family physicians how to care for patients with opioid use disorder.
