Rachel Stevenson, M2 student in the Family Medicine Scholars Training and Admissions (fmSTAT) program, received the $15,000 Joseph Collins Foundation Scholarship. This scholarship specifies that “applicants must have interest in the arts, demonstrated by their activities outside the field of medicine. A student who has been actively and consistently involved in the performing arts, fine arts and literary activities is more likely to be favorably considered.”
Rachel’s connection to the arts stem back to high school and have been a theme throughout her journey to medical school, including founding and directing an organic and natural jewelry company for many years.
As an fmScholar, Rachel is dedicated to becoming a family physician. She is keenly interested in art therapy and medicine and envisions a future practice that will embrace multiple modalities to benefit her patients.
